About The Club

In the early 1950’s, two separate groups of archers in the Salt Lake Valley organized to promote the sport of bowhunting and target archery.  These two clubs the Wasatch Bowhunters and the Beehive Archers, held a joint meeting on August 8, 1957, voted to merge, and the new club was named BEEHIVE-WASATCH BOWHUNTERS.

Through the years, the main aims of the club have remained unchanged. We foster a spirit of good fellowship among all sportsmen, promote the use of the bow in hunting of all legal game birds and animal, to cooperate with and uphold State and Federal wildlife and conservation programs and all fish and game regulations, and to promote target archery at all levels by using the bow in accordance with all its ancient and honorable traditions.

Members voted to incorporate under the laws of a non-profit corporation of the State of Utah in 1962. The club is governed by a Constitution and set of bylaws, which have been properly filed with the Secretary of State.  Present officers are: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  A governing board of eleven or more directors is also elected to handle the affairs of the club  A club newsletter is sent out monthly to all members.

BWB has grown from a handful of bowhunters to one of the largest clubs in the state with over 200 members.

Two types of memberships exist, Associate and Lifetime.  Members share equally in all club functions and in the use of all assets.  Only Lifetime Members, however, own a share of the club property. The club owns 27 acres of land near the head of Parley’s Canyon. Work sheds, excellent shooting ranges, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a children’s playground area, indoor clubroom and a beautiful patio area are maintained and greatly enjoyed by the members.  The club provides the facilities, fellowship and competition necessary for an archer to reach excellence in shooting.

Annual events include and Awards Banquet, Youth Instruction, Indoor Team Shoots, African Safari Shoot, Benefit Shoot for charities, Club Championships and Traveling Trophies, the nationally famous Treasure Mountain Shoot, Turkey Shoot, Pig Shoots Club Family Picnic, and always a satisfying participation in a Christmas charity. Club members affiliate with the Utah Bowmen’s Association, National Field Archery Association, and Utah’s Big Game Board meetings and Federation (UWF) affairs.  Improving the public image of all hunting sportsmen and particularly that of bowhunters is a main concern of our organization. We, in BEEHIVE-WASATCH BOWHUNTERS, INC. love our club and our sport.  It’s a year round thing with us.

New members are encouraged and welcome.
